The Story Behind Preferred PropertiesPreferred Properties began as a family owned and managed business in 1962. In the 45 years since, it has grown many times over, to 25 employees and over 120 brokers and sales associates. Yet, it still remains a tightly-knit personal business, with second generation members of the family now participating. The founder of Preferred Properties, Marjorie Rowe, is still deeply involved in the corporation's affairs. Mrs. Rowe is President of Preferred Properties, a GRI (Graduate of the Realtor Institute) and for the past 25 years has consistently been one of Greenwich's top-selling brokers. Mrs. Rowe's daughter, Jullian Rowe Kent, has been a member of the Preferred Properties Corporation for many years. Jillian is a Vice President of the corporation and Director of Advertising. Allison Rowe, another daughter, is a real estate sales associate. The family atmosphere of the organization ensures that Preferred Properties' clients today get the same special, personalized service offered from the start. In 1991, William M. Burke was named Chief Operating Officer of Preferred Properties. Mr. Burke is a former Senior Vice-President of Greenwich Federal Savings in charge of lending and real estate. He oversees Preferred Properties residential, commercial, relocation and mortgage divisions. He is a licensed real estate broker in Connecticut, New York, Florida and Massachusetts, holds a Connecticut real estate appraisers license and is also a licensed commercial and instrument-rated pilot. The dramatic growth of Preferred Properties has been remarkable from its start in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1962. Within 5 years, the first expansion office was opened in Stamford. The following year, the firm joined RELO, the worldwide leader in relocation services. Internal growth continued at a record pace and an innovative formal training program for Preferred brokers was instituted. In 1978, a complete department dedicated to the needs of corporate transferees was begun, and a commercial division established. Following the formation of Pickwick Mortgage Corporation, a computerized wholly-owned subsidiary, the program to computerize all Preferred branch offices was begun. And so it grows - an energetic, lively company large enough to be of considerable assistance, and small enough to care. These are a few of the Services We Provide You the Home Seller
